Video converter and transcoder

HandBrake
The open source video transcoder

HandBrake is a tool for converting video from nearly any format to a selection of modern, widely supported codecs.

Reasons you’ll love HandBrake:

-Convert video from nearly any format
-Free and Open Source
-Multi-Platform (Windows, Mac and Linux)

Found this via SourceForge a year or so ago. Best video transcoder I've used for years.

Handbrake is an awesome program. I haven't used it for a while, but I was using it a lot on my Linux desktop machine a while back.

These days I find myself using AviDemux for simple stuff like fixing audio sync without re-encoding.

There are many great open source programs that are cross platform. People who don't check them out have no idea what they're missing... lol
