(7,978 posts)the gop primary was hotly contested so many gop voters went and voted. the democratic primary was a shoe in for ryan so participation was low. The general election wont shape out to be that way.

(9,768 posts)The GOP primary election was competitive, generating more interest and therefore turnout. Dems are much more united behind their nominee. I predict a close race.
