MNsure unveils costs of health plansUninsured Minnesotans in the Twin Cities can expect to pay as little as $91 a month for health care coverage bought through MNsure, the states new online marketplace. We believe that these rates that were announcing today undeniably are extremely competitive, Minnesota Commerce Department Commissioner Mike Rothman said. His department regulates insurance products.
Rothman said that Minnesota has the lowest average rates in the country compared to plans offered on 11 other exchanges. A total of 141 plans for individuals and families will be offered on MNsure, and 63 plans will be available to small businesses. Many individuals and small businesses through MNsure will get even lower cost coverage, said MNsure Executive Director April Todd-Malmlov. She said roughly half of the people who use MNsure will be eligible for the subsidies. Subsidies are available for people with annual incomes of $23,000 to about $46,000. For a family of four, the income range is $55,000 to $110,000. Government health plans are available for people making less.

(27,235 posts)1. I'm the best of all possible things: over 65!
My husband has a year and a half to go. October 1st we will be on the Colorado exchange and plan for him to be covered by Jan 1st. He's been healthy, thank God, but if anything happens we'll be in line at the VA in Denver.
Looking forward to affording health insurance.
Thank you, President Obama.

(6,151 posts)2. I've gone w/o health insurance in the past, too
And it stinks. Minnesota has disappointed me at times, but I'm glad to hear they're doing right on Obamacare. Somebody be sure to tell me if they see anywhere that Florida's draconian snafu might be tested in court. Either that or slap me and say wake up! it was just a horrible nightmare.

affordable health care/AKA/Obamacare for our most important assets?
