(68,644 posts)President Obama didn't have the support needed in congress to get that done.
Try another answer that includes possible things with this congress.

(32,967 posts)It's not the ACA that needs to be "fixed". It's the damn web site. The web site isn't the law, and it appalls me that so many people conflate the two.
(Actually, the ACA CAN theoretically be "fixed" by offering a Medicare buy-in. But, we all know that's not going to happen until we get a cooperative Congress.)

(6,151 posts)The hardest part is dealing with the lying GOP who will NEVER admit they're wrong but will keep heaping lies upon lies as long as they have breath. Until they've died off, they'll keep on with their evil machinations. Look at what's happened it California - the state GOP officials (illegally publicized on the taxpayer's dime) set up a fake healthcare website with a name very similar to the actual California healthcare website! And you know the national party's in with them on it too. I've read that if a person goes to that website and indicates they don't currently have insurance, they're sent to a page that stresses all the potential penalties in an effort to scare them away.
Really, there are times when I wonder how much they've morphed into non-humans. McConnell's now screeching that the TP's have ruined the GOP, as if he didn't have just as much to do with it. Not a shred of ethics in the whole bunch.
