It doesn't matter that real family income is down. It doesn't matter that union membership is down. It doesn't matter that laid-off people can't find work. It doesn't matter that there are no opportunities anywhere for inner city youths.

All that matters is that the President is good with photo ops. Got it. I'm so happy.

You are laying all that on this President. How about holding the GOP accountable for something!

House GOP Says It's Too Late To Pass An Unemployment Extension

WASHINGTON -- Republicans in the House of Representatives say it's just too late to pass legislation restoring unemployment benefits to the 2 million workers who've missed out since December.

The Senate advanced a bill reauthorizing the benefits in a procedural vote on Thursday, setting up passage as soon as next week. Then the ball would be in House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) court.

Boehner has voiced opposition to the bill. Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees unemployment insurance, elaborated Thursday on Boehner's recent argument that the Senate measure would be "unworkable" even if Congress approved it -- so lawmakers shouldn't bother.

While Congress has reauthorized federal benefits after allowing them to lapse before, the House GOP argument goes, it hasn't reauthorized them after allowing them to lapse for this long. In 2010, congressional dithering caused the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation program to lapse for almost two months. The Democrat-controlled House had passed a benefits bill, but GOP filibusters tied it up the Senate.

John Boehner Pooh-Poohs Unemployment Extension

WASHINGTON -- Not only would it be administratively difficult to give benefits back to the long-term jobless, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday, but it would be bad policy, too.

Seriously Shemp, you lay this all on Obama?! The ODS are strong on DU! That is what makes DU Suck!

You can't let one thread go by without shitting on it. Good for you, I hope you are happy.

By the way. This is posted in the Barack Obama Group! we are a group and not a forum! Take your nasty post out of here! I strongly suggest that you delete.

In case you did not know our group terms!

The mission of the Barack Obama Group is to discuss information and news about the life, career, accomplishments, and presidency of Barack Obama; to provide a haven for those members of Democratic Underground who support the president and his policies; to discuss President Obama's policy positions, speeches, interviews, and other public appearances; to discuss President Obama's political campaigns; and to discuss the causes which President Obama has championed, including health care reform and ending the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Those who have a generally negative view of President Obama and his administration, support his defeat in the 2012 presidential election (in primaries or the general election), or who are generally supportive of those who do, are not welcome in the Barack Obama Group.

Two of those pictures as I posted below are Joplin's aftermath of the hurricane and Boston after the marathon bombing. Guess some don't believe they are real families or real people that deserve comfort. It's really all about ODS and not people!

One of those pictures above is the aftermath of Joplin! You know, the one that they lost their homes and loved ones!

Overall, the tornado killed 158 people (with an additional four indirect deaths), injured some 1,150 others, and caused damages amounting to a total of $2.8 billion. It was the deadliest tornado to strike the United States since the 1947 Glazier-Higgins-Woodward tornadoes, and the seventh-deadliest overall. It also ranks as the costliest single tornado in U.S. history.

Another is the survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombing! You know, the one where they lost their legs and their loved ones!

Rescue workers and medical personnel, on hand to assist runners and bystanders, rushed available aid to wounded victims in the bombings' immediate aftermath.[28][29] The explosions killed 3 spectators and injured 264 others, who were treated in 27 local hospitals. At least 14 people required amputations, with some suffering traumatic amputations as a direct result of the blasts.

These to you are not real families. They are not real people, they did not suffer!?

Too bad you can't see that this President actually cares for these people and is working as hard and as fast as he can to help everyone he can..

And then fall back on the stupid "photo op" whine.. total lack of perception.

Here's another "photo op" for you us..

JOPLIN, Mo. - Face to face with the legions of the homeless and the bereaved, President Obama on Sunday toured the apocalyptic landscape left by Missouri's killer tornado, consoled the community, and committed the government to helping rebuild shattered lives.

"We're not going to stop till Joplin's back on its feet," Obama vowed.

A memorial service where Obama spoke punctuated a day of remembrance one week after the disaster, as authorities pressed on with the task of identifying the victims and volunteers combed through wreckage of neighborhoods where nothing was left whole.

for an amazing post. I am not active as I used to be. Democratic Underground is just becoming too volatile. I keep seeing I hate President Obama Posts all over the place and this is supposedly from Democrats. I'm terrified for 2014 midterms but I'm holding out hope that we will come out on top.
