(305,207 posts)I was tired from work and needed a fresh breath in the BOG. It's been a hard couple of weeks.
I always find a gentle rain to be cleansing and when the warmth of the sun comes out I feel new again~

(24,096 posts)But he is, cause he truly is the smartest guy in the room, and the nicest probably.
Sometimes really beautiful handsome good looking people turn ugly once they speak their ugly minds. The beauty comes from inside, and sometimes the outside package is pretty good too!

(6,151 posts)Whew. With all the dirty names I get called in RedNeckLand for loving President Obama, it's nice to visit more civilized people.

(17,656 posts)He is one of the most charismatic Presidents the United States has ever had.
When he came out here to Boise before he was the official candidate back in 2008, it was like the Beatles had just stepped on to that stage, girls were fainting in the audience.
I'm not kidding.
I had never seen anything like it ever before.
And he was humble, not arrogant or anything near like what the Republicans said about him being bossy or pushy back in 2009.

(6,151 posts)And I'd never seen (or imagined) the Rainbow Sunrise. Neat. Unfortunately the editor of our local weekly regional paper referred to the LGBT lobby as 'animals'! Not that I should be surprised. He was mad because the big tech guy resigned due to pressure over his support for CA's Prop 8.
Thanks for all.
BTW, I've also signed up with The Christian Left on fb. They're a breath of fresh air, especially considering where I live. Wonder how their tee shirt will be greeted here? Naw, I already know. But I'm used to being called everything under the sun, and 'heretic' is one of them. Considering the source, I'm honored. I plan to wear the TCL shirt with my new black baseball cap and my new "Ready for Hillary" button. Sweet combination. And biggest shocker of all - an American flag pin! Of all the nerve...

(6,151 posts)Just as when I lined the top row of my 'VOTE DEMOCRAT' sign with about 10 small flags. Hoping (perhaps foolishly) that maybe they'd be reluctant to shoot at the flag. Although I hedged my bets by placing the sign in the side yard so if they did shoot, they'd be less likely to hit the house.
On the back of the official TCL shirt, there are great big letters across the back reading "Love thy Neighbor" and below in smaller letters 'thy immigrant neighbor', 'thy Muslim neighbor', 'thy atheist neighbor' and so on. Plenty of categories to tick off the locals.
Trouble is, in order to walk the talk, I'll be forced to be as nice as possible to my fellow townsmen because they, too, are my neighbors - whether any of us like it or not.
