Barack Obama
Related: About this forumI'm glad we have a President who values peace!
I voted for Obama in '08 because I opposed these wars. He ended the war in Iraq and he is bringing the one in Afghanistan to an end. I don't know if this guy is a deserter and neither does anyone else. All I know is that the President got him out of there against all political advice and damn the political criticism he knew he would take. That takes courage. We should all be thanking President Obama for being a man of peace. Too bad the media has picked up all the GOP/Fox News talking points on this.

(30,058 posts)Thanks to President Obama everyone can now purchase health insurance with preexisting conditions. Thanks to President Obama for showing the world there is a better way than attacking first and then asking questions later. There are many more reasons why we should be thankful for the Obama administrations, and I am thankful.

(6,151 posts)The basic plan - concerning exactly the same 5 Gitmo prisoners - had been under discussion well before President Obama ever took office. The fact that President Obama brought the plan to fruition is what enrages the GOP since they freak out when he gets credit for anything. Even worse when he shows he can do what they can't.
Besides the fact that Bush jr. released well over a hundred Gitmo prisoners - but when GOPers do it, that's okay.
