Barack Obama
Related: About this forumI'm watching President Obama's Townhall Meeting ...
All I can say is ... "You go, Mannnn!"
I'm looking it!
Oh yeah ...
Mrs. 1SBM texted me. She was sitting on the tarmac, frozen. Why? Airforce One had just landed! She said most of the people on the plane cheered ... loudly ... for more than a minute.

(87,336 posts)Everyone said so. He should know his place, uppity man! How dare he push immigration reform at a town hall meeting. How dare he call out Repubs to do their job. How dare he use his veto pen on Keystone pipeline, never mind he didn't really mean it.
Go President O. You are the best of the best. I thank you.
Thanks 1SBM! He rocks~
FYI to jury, He should know his place, uppity man! is ~

(31,849 posts)know 10+ people that know, and have worked closely with him, from his law school days up until his Presidency. Each and every person that I have talked with are used to being "the smartest person in the room" and each and every person said ... flat out ... (President) Obama is head and shoulders above anyone they have known, in terms of intelligence, insight, commitment and drive.
And these are people that I trust, without question.
ALBliberal
(2,830 posts)But you felt he was talking right to you. And as with all great communicators you felt he was listening (or would if you were one on one). Caring can't be faked. Even watching him run up the stairs was energizing. He seemed larger than life. We will miss our PBO, but I'll bet that he has some awesome "retirement" plans for us to behold!

(10,001 posts)Remember the saying: Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got till it's gone. I think many will feel that way once he is out of office.

(2,830 posts)Barack is who we need as president at this time (paraphrasing). Yes 1SBM, we have lived through a great presidency. I am not one to hero worship (he has flaws wasn't always as liberal as I wanted him to be)...but he is one of the great leaders of our time. There is no question of that. We will miss him but we will also see his legacy unfold in many positive ways as the years go by. I have loved Jimmy Carter's post presidency. Let's see what PBO has in store for us!
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)you exposed something about yourself.
Marie Marie
(10,001 posts)Maybe you could explain because right now I'm feeling a little "exposed" and I'm not sure what is showing.

(31,849 posts)"revealed" ... My Sista!
Marie Marie
(10,001 posts)I mean, I'll take the hug and gladly be your Sista (and thank you for that) but I'm still confused about what I revealed. I hope it was wonderful and profound but maybe you could let me in on what I said to win pique your interest. I'm sitting here smiling because I honestly don't know.

(1,717 posts)glad to see him forcefully correct the moderator who was trying to
blame both parties equally for the failure to get immigration reform done.
The Prez laid the blame squarely at the feet of the GOP, as well he should have.
But why didn't he start doing that six years ago on a whole raft of issues?
Almost all we got during those years was a huge dose of "Congress needs to . ."
which was disastrous for dem. congressional candidates.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)remember? 6 years ago, the economy was in free fall ... he, as most administrations do, put out a bunch of his initiative out there ...pushing all of them. Some just move faster than others ... based on the electoral support for the items.
We can shout as loud as we want; but when we don't come out to vote, our wishes move slower.
