Wow! That was what my (formerly?) conservative and Catholic sister told me Sunday afternoon when we all went over to visit my mom. Said she just doesn't trust Romney and thinks Obama has done a really good job dealing with the Bush (she voted for him) economic disaster. She had just come from church and told me she was royally pissed that the priest gave a diatribe against the Maryland same sex marriage bill. Said she doesn't go to church to be told how to vote! Said she'll be voting FOR the gay marriage bill. My daughter and I gave her huge hugs and told her we are glad she has finally seen the light! Ugh...her husband remains a Fox News lost cause. Better late than never! I am very to happy to...finally...have a liberal sister! OBAMA 2012!!!

(145 posts)I voted today for President Obama in a community that is heavily republican. I actually registered to vote for the first time in 30 years because I just can't stand the idiocracy any longer. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and all like them have created a mess and need to go. When two people can't have a civil conversation about an issue without one of them (Fox News lost cause) losing it, it's time to make some changes.
Free means free.... equal means equal. Something we all need to remember.

(4,309 posts)She is 3 years my junior and I have always loved her dearly, but we have avoided politics for years. I am very much looking forward to discussing issues with her again. So glad she doesn't check her brain at the church door as so many seem to!

(4,309 posts)and told me her "OBAMA 2012" bumper sticker had just arrived in the mail. I told her to hurry and put it on. Told her it had to be a good omen. She she called me election night and was nearly as thrilled about the result as I was. Said she never felt so good about her vote and voting Obama-Biden felt liberating. It will be great to have her along as an Obama supporter for the next 4 years!

and they were crazy happy like I was too. Only they were always going to vote for him. I'm so glad your sis came around!
My Obama 2012 magnet came in the mail about a week before.. I had purchased it so long ago and had almost forgotten about it.. guess they had a lot to send out! Got mine for my fridge since I don't own a car anymore.
There will be a lot of work to be done the next four years, for us too.. Showing the republicons in Congress that PBO is not alone up there. We're out here Backing Up his Mandate!

(4,309 posts)Glad your sisters are well-informed, intelligent voters, too! I think little sister is all in for the years ahead - to back up PBO and prove to the republicans that the people have spoken loud and clear! I have an Obama 2012 magnet on my fridge as well! Great minds think alike. Peace!
