"Ode to Joy"

I know this has been posted before~However this one is for my friends a the BOG.

Probably the greatest musical expression of unbridled joy is the “Ode to Joy”, the fourth movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. It’s been a hell of a couple of weeks, so some versions of the Ode to take you soaring and lift your spirits.

Flash Mob “Ode to Joy”

And the most iconic performance of the “Ode to Joy”: Lenny Bernstein in commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall, renamed “Ode to Freedom”

Live life with joy. That’s what our opponents lack.

“One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.”
― Helen Keller, The Story of My Life

“I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.”
― Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl

“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.”
― Kahlil Gibran

“The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”

― Kahlil Gibran

That was so beautiful. You are welcome to post in the Barack Obama Group anytime!

I posted this for my fellow BOGers, an Ode to Joy, because we do feel the joy. It is an uplifting song that makes our souls weep, yet it makes our hearts soar.

Welcome to the BOG, Trajan.

“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.”
― Kahlil Gibran

Our service, community service that our President wants us to do, asks us to do, our service is joy. We help those in need. That is our Democratic oath! We serve and protect.

Inspiring quote from Kahlil Gibran, amazing that what he said then is truer today.

Sweet dreams freshwest, gotta go~

and wipe away a tear or two. (Dang, I've been weepy lately for some reason.)

Sometimes people say that Moonlight Sonata is God's favorite piece of music, and I love it too; but surely Ode to Joy is a close contender. One should follow the other.
