TRENTON — Time for some traffic problems in the U.S. Senate race.

Rob Turkavage, a former FBI agent who wanted to run for the Republican nomination to take on Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) in November, didn’t make it to the Trenton office of the state Division Elections by today’s 4 p.m. deadline to turn in his petition to run in his party's June primary.

Turkavage ran into a very New Jersey obstacle — on Route 9.

“I’m stuck in traffic,” he said in a phone interview.
