A Louisiana State Representative, seeking her districts U.S. House seat, has posted a campaign video calling climate change the greatest deception in the history of mankind, and stating that it can be disproved using a simple thermometer.
In the video Lenar Whitney, who is running for the seat representing Louisianas sixth congressional district being vacated by Republican Bill Cassidy, claims climate change is being pushed by liberals, including former Vice President Al Gore, as a way to gain more power for government and raise taxes.
Using terminology usually associated with former half-term Governor Sarah Palin, Whitney claims that her pronouncement that climate change is a fraud, caused liberals in the lamestream media to become unglued, before equating herself with George Orwell, who once said: In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
Calling former VP Al Gores propaganda film The (sic) Inconvenient Truth, Whitney explains that scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming can be disproved using a thermometer.

(45,251 posts)Republicans wanted us to stop talking about "global warming" and start talking about the vaguer "climate change." Yet, they also want to claim that a thermometer can disprove climate change? No.
Maybe a thermometer, if interpreted properly, can disprove global warming, which y'all didn't want to talk about. But it can't disprove climate change. You don't disprove increases in hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. with a thermometer.
As far as a thermometer, though, asshat, compare a photo of mountaintops anywhere in the world from the 1920s with a photo of the same mountaintops in the same season today. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist. Even you should be able to figure it out.
