I stand with Pretty Foot..
Bernie did this to himself.. stop blaming everybody else but him.

(34,648 posts)This constant crying of 'sellout!' Is exactly why he failed to do better. It is not the media's job to promote and love Bernie. And I have no idea why folks think Bernie owns progressivism. He does not. Jeezus!
Cha
(305,428 posts)on BS & Jane.. no hard questions.. not bringing up their taxes or the college problem(well until the other night.. I hear Matthews got weaver on the tax thing.. but that was just because he fell into his own trap).. especially Chris Hayes.. he was the go to for all things promoting sanders.
So Finally when Hillary has won.. and for one very important thing.. sanders wouldn't condemn the violence of his fans @ the Nevada Convention.. Rachel and some left wing commentators started calling him out on it.
I do not know what Chris Hayes' big sin was..?
Pretty Foot is right in her tweet.. he is his own worst enemy.
sanders is selling that he's the only one who owns progressivism but the majority aren't buying.. they want Hillary to lead our Country and continue building on President Obama's legacy.
Mahalo, brave~
MSNBC bent over backwards to give Bernie equal time and a fair shake. But we've seen this over-reaction to criticism before. How many times has Rachel Maddow been thrown under that bus? Anytime she had the audacity to tell the truth about the numbers and the winnowing of Bernie Sanders' nomination chances. I can't believe even an Elizabeth Warren has come under withering comment because she failed to endorse Sanders or jump up and down fast enough, loud enough.
There's a point in time this all gets silly and destructive. That time is fast approaching.

(305,428 posts)drama on the high-seas!
BS was at the top.. so it's a long way down.. but that's what happens to those in 2 place..
Hillary went through it with Dignity.. we can see sanders is doing no such thing.

(9,967 posts)always giving them softball questions, Hayes, who could never hide how much he was for Sanders, Matthews would feature him often, and Mitchell, who has hated the Clintons for years.
I guess only breathless fawning was allowed. Now they need to turn Sanders into a martyr...but mark my words, Cha...once Sanders endorses Hillary, he'll be thrown under the bus. The hatred towards him will be as intense as the current fanaticism...you'll see.
Cha
(305,428 posts)you gave us even more of what went on @msnbc during the all things burnie show. months on end.
They do indeed want to make a martyr out him.. but it's not going to help his legacy.. it's all based on sand..
None of them never learned this..
Gracias

(2,897 posts)and then when I recovered, I burst into laughter again at how thin-skinned you would have to be to think that Maddow, Hayes, or Mitchell were "stabbing" Sanders in the back.
Cha
(305,428 posts)Some more major denial of what the reality of the last few months have actually been like @the msnbc show promoting sanders for their "horse race" with Hillary Clinton.
But, this is typical.. we see it all the time. Deny reality play the persecuted.

Now, To me, he will forever be "Back Bench Bernie" and I am DONE with him PERMANENTLY.

PEACE!
Cha
(305,428 posts)he's much worse than "back bench Bernie" to me.
I just always had a feeling him that something was off.. but my gods.. I never would have guessed this.. but we saw it slowly devolving.. we had a front row seat on the downfall of burnie sanders.

Are they for real with this?! It's so ridiculous. This must be the first time these people have paid attention to politics. It's glaringly obvious that the media has handled Bernie with kid gloves. They wouldn't last a day as Hillary supporters.

(5,500 posts)To date - the only media that have asked even moderately tough questions have been a couple of editorial boards at two or three decent newspapers. The electronic media have pampered and endulged the old fart in an ill advised attempt to build ratings. The notion that any of those four specific TV personalities have "had it out" for St. Bernard is downright laughable.
Were the media to decide to sharpen their pencils and their questions, Bernie (like the Donald is about to discover) wouldn't last five minutes.
BootinUp
(49,023 posts)absurdity. Bernie was given a stage to carry on his rant against our party, its leaders, for all this time. He stuck to his script, to a fault most would say. It was his desire to show no flexibility and that made him many die hard fans, but it also limited his appeal in the end because our country requires some flexibility in its leaders.
When stuff like the above is put out there, you will notice they can't really point to specific instances when he was marginalized by Clinton or the press. Because the truth is quite to the contrary. People have had a tremendous amount of patience with the Sanders campaign as he ignored facts about the race results and ignored questions about his policies so he could continually pound the same attacks on the D party.
As to the legacy of his campaign, it will be remembered as a very strong showing and affecting the party's positions this year, but there is a time for campaigning and a time to actually work together in the government to accomplish things. I will be surprised if he is able to adapt since he has never shown much ability to do the latter.
Cha
(305,428 posts)Party with him as their savior. It didn't work out that way.. he was his own worst enemy Nobody did anything to him. It could have gone so differently.

(25,688 posts)or no positive press. All the while, Bernie has been on the Sunday shows, back to back on all the msnbc/cnn programs, and if it wasn't Bernie it was Jane, Ted, Jeff or Nina. Mika and Smoe were both falling all over him, all the while slamming HRC for everything, from her voice, to her laugh, to her clothes, they have been just terrible. BS has gotten so much free positive coverage he should have to declare it on his income tax returns. (By the way, where are those returns.) They fawned all over him, never pressing him on how he was going to pay for all his free programs, how he was going to work with a republican congress to get all his programs through, never pressing him on his foreign policy positions.
Now when the press tells the truth and praises HRC for her outstanding speech, the bernie bros feel betrayed. How dare the press say anything good about HRC! Wah, wah, wah.
I am so tired of them, I just want them to go away.
They are the most whinney babies;
whine about the debates,
whine about the vote counts,
whine about the ballots,
whine about the delegates,
whine about the DNC rules,
whine about DWS,
whine about the press coverage,
whine about the convention

She's had everyone against her.. the m$m, BS, gop, DT.. and she won. She doesn't complain, either..You just have to be strong like Hillary and not your own worst enemy like sanders.

(718 posts)hid a post where I said Bernie needs a hug and showed a pic of a crying toddler. So careful, you better stop expressing yourself or Bernie will go tell his mommy. (I'm tired of being censored for nothing, by people who can't handle any criticism, whether reasoned or humorous. He's lost. A person I could respect would accept that loss with some grace. I'm sick of it.

(42,455 posts)If his campaign competence came anywhere NEAR matching the enthusiasm of His supporters, he might have won--or at least came close. He hasn't been in the running for months, not realistically anyway-- had he listened to "The American People" instead of attempting to speak for "The American People" the media would have gotten the horse race they appear to desperately want.

(28,270 posts)The berners are giving a good lesson to gullible people in the news media and the party.
They are beyond rational thought in their worship of Bernie Sanders and if you ask a hard question of him or interfere with their delusional fantasies in any way, you are a traitor to the progressive movement, a fool, shill, tool of wall street etc.
Worthy of doxing, death threats, and threats of violence in general.
I think if these people had any real power, we would all be in a world of shit, to put it mildly.

(2,032 posts)...even if this were true (of course it's not), what possible difference would it make. As if MSNBC has significant political influence. Second, the image is reminiscent of the German response to their loss in WWI...the infamous stab in the back. Having been deceived by the Kaiser throughout the war (sound familiar), the German people believed their army was undefeated on the battlefield...that their capitulation was the result of some nebulous betrayal. The fact is, the German army was doomed when they lost ON THE BATTLEFIELD at the Marne in September 1914...just like Bernie was doomed on Super Tuesday. WWI dragged on for 4 more years, but the outcome had long since been ordained. Who knows how long our opponent intends to drag this out, but he won't be the nominee, and it's not the result of some conspiracy or betrayal; it's simply because he lost.
Cha
(305,428 posts)about any of that.. sad to say.
I really appreciate it! No, he won't be the nominee but.. instead he'll show the world why he was rejected.. nobody like a sore loser. And, burnie bridges sanders is the Sorest Loser of all time.
sanders in a nutshell.
