My favorite part of Sanderss underwear-gnomes strategy to flip superdelegates is how Clinton's voters are magically totally chill with it.

"Welp, she got 55% of the vote and the clear majority of elected delegates, but let's give it to the 74-year-old white guy!".

(10,437 posts)is if the DOJ issued an indictment and the odds of that are 9999999999999999 to 1.....
so its clearly ego driven as this small man found himself on the big stage and he won't leave it until he is kicked off it....every day he proves his detractors 100% correct on all his flaws...as long as a microphone is in front of him...he will not stop
so the media will keep egging him on...
we will go on without him if that is the case

(2,348 posts)... but I have to amend that statement. If Bernie were to somehow steal the nomination from the clear winner, I would have to seriously think about not soiling my conscience by rewarding him. Yes, I know he's better than Trump, but there is something about the usurping of democracy that is so insulting that I seriously question Bernie's judgment in even bringing it up as an issue, given that he's losing by such a wide margin. I don't know how he could, in that situation, win be over.
Although I disagree on one analysis. Post stealing the nomination, he isn't any better than Trump as that's a Trump-like action.

Clinton now leads Sanders by 800 delegates, per NBC count. She's 24 away from the 2,383 needed to win. He's 824 away.

(5,123 posts)was the talk came around to this. It was pointed out that 1. She's a Democrat in good standing, for many, many years, and is loyal to the party, where he is not. 2. That he has been saying this same thing for years with virtually no audience, so now that he HAS one, he's unwilling to give it up.
In any case, all of 'em were agreed that the flipping is a non issue as it won't be happening.

(10,437 posts)actually being a leader. I have posted countless times that the typical sanders supporter has no idea on what sanders is...what his past is, what he has actually accomplished in all the years in congress except to give his 2 minute daily rant and rave speech. I'm not saying that what he says doesn;t lack merit....his record of actually getting stuff done proves his reputation out as we have seen now more than ever...."doesn't play well with others"....
he is a small man over powered by the big stage and his ego for attention. Its his last rodeo as after this election, he'll be sent into exile by the democratic party and I imagine removed from all committees....
unless he changes his tune

(2,348 posts)That's very true. I've been in the middle of several conversations/arguments here, where I have tried to point out that Bernie is far from a pacifist, and has voted for more war/intervention than Hillary did, only to be willfully ignored. To a certain degree, those people really don't know who Bernie is, because he's happy to let them think what they want, even when he knows it isn't true.
