Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI will be the first to applauded Bernie. Make no mistake about that....
The measure of a man is how you handle adversity....Bernie comes out and is gracious and offers and works to ensure Hillary is our next president and democrats can once and for all retake congress...Bernie will go down in history as a man who changed history with the election of our first woman president and stemmed the tide of conservative blight on America....I am hopeful this is the Bernie we see Tuesday or Wednesday....

(2,550 posts)He'd have to concede Tuesday or Wednesday to have any chance of me giving him any kind of respect.
This weekend he was criticizing Hillary, Bill and the Foundation, as well as saying "contested convention" bs. I don't see him conceding this week.

(9,263 posts)I am hoping he sees it that way....a sanders attack dog is a thing of beauty....just can't GOP a chance to dump trump....I am hopeful now...the wind is gone for his sails

(70,183 posts)the convention. then again, he used to be an "independent" but had no problem dumping that value

(6,537 posts)His die hards will disrupt it, probably to violence, if Sanders doesn't get EVERYTHING he wants, including the nomination. Since there is no possibility he will get the nomination, they have a ready made excuse. If he contest the convention, it will be very ugly.

(42,463 posts)He ran a horrid campaign, surpringly inept. Perhaps it is as is sometimes said--he didn't get into it to win-- and was surprised at how well he resonated. I could see that being the case, to a point.
Some of the mistakes were pretty epic though, and the scrambling to "fix" them, made him look incompetent. I blame his campaign for much of that.
He still had a chance to be an effective change agent, he must understand however, that he can only influence and not dictate policy. Hillary will be running for POTUS, and will likely win--he remains a Senator from Vermont with a strong fan base yes, but part of that same fan base led to his undoing. He needs to lose the CT, and embrace full truth.

(15,498 posts)Bernie does after tomorrow. That is up to him.
If he has half a brain cell left, he will concede soon - and work to help elect Hillary and other Dem candidates everywhere.
If he does not, that will be his undoing. And it will be his own fault. He will forever look small and petty in the history books, much like Eugene McCarthy in 1968 and Ralph Nader in 2000. Payback in the Senate will be all kinds of hell for him and his re-election chances in 2018 might not be as secure as they otherwise would have been.
Whatever Bernie does or doesn't do, I know that I personally will be working my tail off to help elect Hillary and Dem candidates everywhere. I hope that he'll join us all and yes, I will applaud him for doing so.
But if he doesn't, that's on him.

(9,494 posts)I had a chance to see the kind of human he is so....no, I don't think he will help very much. He doesn't really have a talent for doing anything but what he has been doing for months now.
