Theres no strategist pulling the strings, and no collection of burn-it-all-down aides egging him on. At the heart of the rage against Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, the campaign aides closest to him say, is Bernie Sanders.
It was the Vermont senator who personally rewrote his campaign managers shorter statement after the chaos at the Nevada state party convention and blamed the political establishment for inciting the violence.

I know we are winding down paying attention to the Bern Show, but this had some revealing items.

I dont know who advised him that this was the right route to take, but we are now actively destroying what Bernie worked so hard to build over the last year just to pick up two fucking delegates in a state he lost, rapid response director Mike Casca complained to Weaver in an internal campaign email obtained by POLITICO.
What he got was left wing pundits turning against him and no "fucking" delegates.
Bitter berni.. will be left in the dust..
"Every time Sanders got into a knife fight, aides say, they ended up losing. But they could never stop Sanders when he got his back up."
Word got back to Reids team that Weaver had nixed the idea, ruling out backing anyone who hadnt endorsed Sanders. Weaver says its because the Senate hopefuls had to get in line for Sanders support behind top backers like Gabbard and Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.)though neither has a competitive race this year.
Sanders never followed up himself
One Loser decision after another.
Thanks for this, Starry.. I'm sure there will be more desconstruciing of what went wrong with the BS campaign.
We were all right there to see it.

(1,151 posts)They havent been able to get Sanders focused on any of that, or on the real questions about what kind of long term organization to build out of his email list. They know theyll have their own rally in Philadelphia outside the the convention hallbut thats about as far as theyve gotten.
He's basically managed to hijack left politics for his own ego.

(11,243 posts)Wonder if he likes how that feels?
I started reading the campaign tweets and press releases about the time he dissed PP and HRC. That was when I realized that the campaign was directly responsible for the misleading use of polls, nasty talking points and encouraging bro-ish behavior from supporters. Now we know that it all came directly from the top.

What I don't get is why Sanders thinks he should have all this influence. It is clear to me as spiteful and angry as he is, he will not deliver votes for presumptive Nominee Clinton (feels good to write presumptive). We are going to have to win without him clearly. I do not understand why he thinks as the loser he has the right to remake the Democratic system. He can't organize his way out of a paper bag and the so-called movement will die on the vine...as it takes real work to organize this sort of thing. He won't do the heavy lifting. I think the kindness shown by our nominee has emboldened Sanders who's ego is the size of Texas...so it needs to stop. The Democratic primary process worked just fine...it stopped a guy who never had a chance to win the general and that is what it is designed to do.
