Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumApparently I am fighting a losing battle for the healing process.
Let's just say you all win and I am very disappointed.
I'll be back on the 16th when it will be forced.
See you all then.

(32,623 posts)I made positive posts but there's just too much end of campaign wacky going down not to talk about any of it.
And I just sat on the losing end of a jury that decided not to hide a rah rah vote for Jill Stein post grr

question everything
(48,806 posts)and to see how they are complaining about DU, how they want their money back, etc.
And to think how slanted DU has been. We've all seen the bias in hiding pro Hillary and anti Sanders posts while keeping the same one alive and kicking. And now they are whining about DU and Skinner?
They need to grow up.... like most of his voters.

It's. Far. From. Over.

(15,696 posts)If BS suporters still need to blame someone besides BS for their massive loss, this is the guy they should look to. His Pope Jumping The Shark stunt is when the campaign truly began to collapse.

(15,496 posts)to overturn the Feb caucus vote happened the weekend before the Pope-related brouhaha. The NV event was when I became very disappointed with Bernie and his campaign. But the "Pope Jumping the Shark stunt" - as you put it so well - is when I became thoroughly disillusioned.
Unfortunately, I have seen no reason yet to become "illusioned" again. I keep hoping, but so far ... no.
With advisors like Sachs, Bernie needed no enemies.

(31,827 posts)There are a lot of hurt feelings right now. Skinner has already given them a time frame so why don't we just stick to that. There's no sense in stirring them up at this point.

(14,689 posts)... of days ago when the lengthy list of responses to a Bernie supporter congratulating Hillary had way more positive replies than negative. Not typical of GDP. I thought it might signal a turning of the tide.

(29,087 posts)Just stop feeding the trolls.
Follow the example of our candidate and ignore/dismiss the haters. Reinforce the positive threads and posters. Don't reward the negative behavior of haters with hate.
It's better for our community and for our candidate.

(2,798 posts)I have already trashed and, for quite some time, not gone near the Sanders Group and the GDP Forum.
However, it was the candidate himself who stoked the hatred in many of his followers. They are not all paid trolls. And he is not an innocent politician. His hatred for Democrats has been brewing for many years.
I feel sorry for his followers. I hope they get better on their own, since their leader isn't helping very much.
I will not stop criticizing him until he decides to behave like a responsible adult. Having followed his character and behavior during this primary, I am not optimistic that he is even capable of changing course. This is not your usual political contest.
Maru Kitteh
(29,087 posts)to put down our swords.
He is seeing the game through the last few minutes of play in DC. He's said he will be talking with Hillary very soon about how to unify. He's meeting with some of her top supporters on the hill with the same goal.
This was not your usual political contest, but they never are. And this one is over. Time to follow her lead and let it go. Work for unity instead of poking at raw wounds and things that divide us.
If there is anything less usual about this political contest, it is the genuine menace that lies on the other side. We need to get to work, and we need to work on doing it together.

(2,798 posts)But I don't trust Sanders. I will feel better if he cancels the protest gatherings in Philadelphia. There is a bit of a trickster in him.
I sincerely hope that this all plays out well, but I have the right to remain skeptical. Sanders has unresolved issues that lie at the heart of his campaign.
I hope my suspicions are unfounded and your optimism is justified. We'll soon see. But I am not a provocateur, in any case.
I'm sure there are others who also believe that we must work for unity, but also watch our backs.

(29,087 posts)for trouble. It would be irresponsible not to.
But I think we do need to keep our sights set further on the horizon, and reach out our hands, so that we may gather in as many to our shared goals as possible.

(2,798 posts)We'll see what happens after her announcement tonight. How will Sanders react? That will be the key.
Maru Kitteh
(29,087 posts)And I can understand why. He's still looking for votes in DC. What's he going to say? I think endorsements of the other person on the ballot are great?
Next week, he'll suspend. As fast as he's moved thus far, I expect to see him on the trail with Hillary very, very soon.
Koinos
(2,798 posts)As far as his verbal response is concerned, he could say a lot of things without saying he agrees with the endorsement.
He could have said something today, in response to the reporter's question, without agreeing with Obama's endorsement. He could have said he was disappointed. His silence was deafening.
And I do not think he will suspend next week. He will hold on until the convention. Let's see whether he cancels the protest gatherings in Philadelphia. JMHO.
Anyway, his speech this evening will tell us a lot.

Ignore or dismiss the negativity you run into and choose instead to reinforce positive posts and posters. Don't reward the negative behavior of attention-seekers with your attention.
