What is Bernie doing? (HRC Group)

Considering HRC had a more credible ax to grind in 2008 but conceded gracefully, why all the kid gloves around Bernie? I can't imagine Clinton making demands, continuing to talk about being president after the writing was on the wall, or saying it was up to Obama to persuade her supporters to vote for him.

I heard this afternoon (on teevee -- no link, sorry) that Bernie and his team might be demanding to choose HRC's cabinet!! Since when does the runner-up have ANY say whatsoever on what the winner chooses, holding the party hostage by withholding support?

I think today was a deluge of Democratic unity taking over the airwaves, including Warren's address occluding Sanders' speech in his effort to win in DC. Also Obama and Biden -- all in one day, not rolled out over a few days.

Said in the 60s: If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Time is moving on, even if he isn't. To prevent these tactics from becoming precedents, I hope he gets nothing to say about the party's platform committee, Clinton's cabinet picks, or ANYthing else. This is INSANE.

As for the rumored demands, my guess is that they're just rumors. If they're not, Hillary is not about to give him any say on cabinet picks, etc. After he put Cornel West on the platform committee, he pretty much forfeited any claim that he's doing what's best for the party.

I saw him on TV earlier. He insisted that it was Clinton's job to bring Bernie people into the fold. He also kept referring to the "huge" differences between Clinton and Sanders, and he generally had a very skeptical view on whether party unification would even be possible. The Dem party (and the Repubs), he said, would be two separate parties in any other country.

All in all, he sounded incredibly bitter.

is that his economic advice to the Russian government following the breakup of the Soviet Union is directly responsible for creating the the oligarchy that exists in that country today.

He's been trying to explain away that mistake for decades.

were never like too many DU posters here who "say" they were supporting him and it's Bernie or bust.

I know that from my own family, circle of friends and acquaintances in the US and abroad, and especially from especially those Dems Abroad here in Switzerland who supported Bernie's candidacy. All have made clear to me that while they supported Bernie in the primaries and had hoped for a different outcome, there is no question but that they will fully - and in most cases, enthusiastically - support Hillary as the nominee because she has won, by any measure.

They are disappointed and sad, but most are not "devastated," and they surely recognize the disaster that Trump represents.

Bernie was told in no uncertain terms by the President today that the party is moving on with or without him. Bernie can see that the news cycle for the rest of the week is going to be dominated by the endorsements, and Warren's speech, so he's indulging himself in fantasy land as long as possible, because he can see now that he actually has far less power than he and his supporters ever thought. With Obama, Biden, and Warren all sounding the alarm, Bernie is an afterthought. He can't possibly do the job of attacking Trump as well as the others already have.

11. The big Dem guns rolled Sanders today.

Obviously, they had coordinated a big roll out for Hillary.

They met with Sanders in the morning to be nice, but by lunch time, the unity message was drowning out any favorable press Sanders had hoped for. By the end of the day, Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden had had their say, and Sanders was basically sent off into the political twilight.

He got his morning in the sun. The price was his political irrelevance. He once again proved that he's a political amateur, the DC equivalent of a "Not ready for prime time" player.
