I found this toon quite apropos.

Thank you to all the women who came before us and fought the hard fight that enabled future generations to have the right to vote. Thank you to those who were in the women's movement, who fought to attain equality in the work force and the right to own our bodies.

This one is for you.

I also found it moving. So many women put everything on the line, whether in the suffragette movement or in the women's movement of the 60s. Those of us who have benefited from these women's hard work and sacrifice should be grateful to them. We should never forget in whose footsteps we follow.

It tells the story of the passage of the 19th Amendment, as seen through the eyes of suffragist Alice Paul (Hilary Swank). This scene, in particular, which depicts the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession on Pennsylvania Avenue (organized by Paul), is very effective IMO in portraying the verbal/physical abuse and threats these brave women endured -- all because they wanted to vote.

Thanks for uploading this video. It's distressing what women had to go through to get the vote. Some were incarcerated and even force fed with tubes shoved down their throats. It's a shame that so many people take for granted their hard fought right to vote.

If there is indeed an afterlife, I hope that all these women watched and gave Hillary a thumbs up.

....one of these years I'll have to see what the Women's Rights National Historical Park is all about.

That was an amazing gathering they had up there, now about 175 years ago.

They would be proud of Hillary Clinton!
