Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI received my first hide.
And I got it for saying something truthful and compassionate.
No snark. No anger. No name-calling. Just compassion and concern based upon observation of actual behavior.
And I said it in this protected group.
What I said is likely to be proved true in the next several weeks or months.
So, when does this primary end?
Has anyone else thought of the movie -- "The King of Hearts"?

(2,798 posts)It helps me feel what all of you wonderful people have gone through for many months. I can identify with your pain, although mine is nothing compared to yours. Actually, it doesn't hurt at all. I feel content. Being right does that for you.

(29,098 posts)They wait until late night when their constituency is at it's highest and play the jury system, alert-stalking until they hit pay dirt, then the work like hell to find a second one they can get.

(305,440 posts)The BOGUS alerts will end MONDAY. Just don't let the Alert Squad get another hide on you within 24 hrs.. or you go on FFR.. and that means you can't post or even get PMs.
The primary was suppose to end today but due to Elad's being unavailable this weekend to check for bugs.. they had to postpone it until Monday.

Update: the poster who lied is no longer with us.. she got PPRed.

So karma.

(15,496 posts)I got snarks from at least two posters today b/c I posted a Bernie cartoon they didn't like in one of my responses that was to an OP not in the HRC Group (yes, I should have known better). It was actually kind of a cute one.
They called me a "sore winner," etc. and hinted how people like me have turned them off to Hill. There might have been more snarky responses but I have a long Iggy List so I was blissfully spared.
Both of those have been added to the Iggy List without any response from me. My Iggy List will stay active for several months more. I haven't missed any of those on it and perhaps never will.

(71,023 posts)When I have served on juries...I give Bernie folks the benefit of the doubt as I am a partisan and I want to be fair to all...that is never reciprocated on their part. never had a hide before and have had two this primary...both 4-3 neither warranted.

(71,023 posts)We do have a great candidate, and she is smart...she will deal with Bernie in her own way.

(71,023 posts)I play fair and they don't ...I had just been on a jury and given the BSSER the benefit of the doubt and without my vote, he would have had a hide...On the bright side, I saw a Trump supporting post and alerted and it was taken down.
Cha
(305,440 posts)I've been on a few of those juries lately and we've gotten hides.. trump, jill stein etc etc..
I don't alert though because I haven't read any of their crap in months.. just stayed in Hill's Group and have had so much fun!
Demsrule86
(71,023 posts)because it was explaining why Trump was better on the issues..the poster had copied other's opinions...and posted them...I guess he thought if he didn't say explicitly he agreed...he thought it would be fine. But it went down. I was glad because we don't need to have posts that endorse Trump on a Democratic site.

lol Good on ya.. they'll be gone Monday.

(6,444 posts)Really it's their problem! They got to find their own solution. They know that and we know that. They don't like it, so they try to make us feel their discontent.. Makes them feel powerful. But really it's a power-less maneuver. Screaming at us: "am important! am important" Yeah, that's gonna work. Did real great for their candidate! They got a problem and want to make it ours. They desperately want to make it ours. Like a child losing a game and throwing all the chess pieces to the floor! (BET TRUMP IS GONNA DO THAT IN NOVEMBER!)
Not impressed!
Koinos
(2,798 posts)The problem seems to be widespread in our society. There is a lot of anger and lashing out. People like Trump feed on and exploit that ill will. Trump is psychologically unfit to be president. If he weren't wealthy, he would have been committed and sedated a long time ago. Instead, he is running for president. Go figure.
These are hard times. We all have to find composure within a chaotic and disturbed emotional environment. Trump is a symptom of an underlying social pathology. According to Plato, the worst society is one that lacks self-restraint and reason and ends up being governed by someone who himself lacks self-restraint and reason. The worst society is one governed by its worst citizen. We had a hint of that with George Bush. Obama brought us back from the abyss, and I trust that Hillary will continue that movement toward healing and recovery.
We need to move away from anger and hatred toward compassion and love. Hillary is on board with this genuine "progressive movement."

(6,444 posts)You have money, you see more, so therefore you know because you have seen. So it's a way to elevate IQ. Not internally but externally. Kinda superficial way to elevate someone's IQ. Does that make sense? Yet the mark of smart people is that they know what they don't know, but Trump doesn't do Introspection.
And he definitely he doesn't do WISDOM.
Koinos
(2,798 posts)And you are right: Trump definitely doesn't do wisdom, which is closely linked to humility as one gains appreciation of his or her own limitations. And of course, that requires -- as you rightly say -- introspection and self-awareness. Trump followers are fools who want the biggest fool to be their leader. Like is attracted to like, I suppose.

(15,496 posts)hide several weeks back, also for a post in this "protected" group.
And yes, I LOVE "King of Hearts" - it was a very sweet movie!
For all intents and purposes, the primary is over and by any and all measures, Hillary has won. Period.
I realize that many may be very disappointed at that outcome. I was on the "losing side" in 2008 and remember how it feels, even though I also liked Barack Obama and fully threw my support behind him once Hillary had conceded, as she so graciously did. I firmly believe that the overwhelming majority of those who are now disappointed are willing to join us to fight the good fight against Trump and all the odious things he represents, if not now - at least sometime before November. I will welcome them with open arms - whenever.
But I don't remember anyone coddling ME in 2008 when we had only a comparatively small difference between the winner and the loser. I was simply expected to "suck it up" - and I did. In 2016, when we have a "YUGE" difference between the winner and the loser, it seems that for some because the winner is a woman, then SHE (and her supporters) must make all the concessions.
There is something wrong with such a picture, IMO.

(2,798 posts)I saw incidents of reckless driving and road rage occurring around me. I decided to get off at the next exit and take a secondary road home. I decided not to be provoked to anger by the irrational anger of others. It is better to pull off the road and rest for a while. But I am dismayed that anger is so prevalent in our society.

(9,494 posts)I am guessing that it's dawning on a lot of folks that this has become the only viable forum besides AA and some state and special interest groups. It must be hard to take when one's game is run.
I recently had a silly hide (naturally here in HG). Had you recently posted something in the general forums??? If you make a good point there, they will follow you here to find something to alert. Reason being, anyone replying to your OP can't be on the jury so.....you do the math. Once they had to go back 3 weeks to find a post of mine that they could alert on. They got it!
In a few more days this will all be over. I don't alert on posts so it took me a while to understand their game. It seems so pointless to me. I post on a few different sites so it's not the end of the world for me.

(4,187 posts)The same thing happened to me a couple of months ago in this forum. My post wasn't compassionate, but it truthfully stated an obvious point.
I know it's upsetting, but please try not to mind it. I think that some Bernie supporters hang out in this forum, alerting on every post. Every now and then, a jury ends up being made up of at least four die-hard Bernie supporters who will hide anything posted by a Hillary supporter. So a single hide means very little. I'm sure that most of us who are actual members of this group appreciate your posts.
