Expectations for Hillary's Presidency

I'm curious because I personally have come to believe she is (and always has been) very progressive though she also has a lot of moderate and centrist support. So I kind of want to take a poll as to what our fine members expect for her in terms of the ideological bent of her Administration.

1. mainly in line with Obama, with deviations more driven by external political considerations

such as control of Congress than by ideological differences with Obama

3. I think said external political considerations will be a huge thing

Hillary will have an Dem lock on government by at least 2018, and even if Bernie doesn't get with the program, the more rational and constructive of the progressive movement will continue to put pressure on Democrats to move and stay left. Remember, Hillary voters > Bernie voters on the liberal/left scale, and several key constituencies, in particular, POC, are as politically powerful as they ever have, given that we now know we are the key to the White House and our levels of activism and engagement are at a level not seen since the 70s at least.

Just my feeling.

I honestly should have put an option for "between Obama at his most left and the Warren/Merkley wing of the Democratic Party".

4. Depends a lot on what kind of Congress we can get her. The first step to a more progressive agenda

is to get the president a Congress more amenable to one.

5. She will stick to her campaign promises, she just needs the Congress to do it.

Her campaign represents the most liberal Dem nominee since Mondale.

6. Moderate to further left. Depends on the issues but I think she's going

to surprise many with how far left her Presidency will be.

Republicans will not be getting their shit together any time soon. She's going to have 2 terms.

The Supreme Court.

WE NEED to start working on holding the Clinton coalition together NOW so that we can turn over even more seats in the mid-terms.
