He's not exactly svelte, and I've read he's very sensitive about it. So I made this, mostly because I thought if he ever happened to see it, he would really hate it. And that makes me happy.
I don't know if I every told you guys this or not, but I am actually one of the thousands of humans on the planet that received a cease & desist letter from his lawyers for a graphic I made once, way back in 2004 I think. So you know, fuck him.

Yeah fat shaming. In this case I'm for it and I'm a fatty to.

(29,098 posts)Although understandably, it's hard to convey that nuance in such a format.

(22,889 posts)What did you do? Can you share it now? Make it into a tee shirt to sell at the Democratic Convention! Did you frame it the document? That page could be worth gold!
(Sorry for getting so excited)

(29,098 posts)and I didn't really care.
I haven't looked for it because I don't think I saved it. I would be shocked if I saved it. I thought he was gross, stupid and insufferable at the time, but I sure didn't see this coming. I didn't know how ugly and dangerous he was.

(22,889 posts)He uses lawyers to rip off everyone he deals with.
You're assessment is in line with my own: Mr. Trump is gross, stupid, insufferable, ugly and dangerous. I live in NYC and have had to hear about every detail of his life since the 1980's. Ugh.
If you get the chance, though, look for the document. I'm not kidding: it could be somewhat valuable. I've had to deal with some manuscripts and personal documents in my business and it's amazing how dealers will value them. Plus, it'd be fun to hang it in your bathroom!

(29,098 posts)my reaction was "whatev" and a quick toss into the can of delete. I was selling some buttons on Ebay at the time and that's why/how the whole business came about.
The graphic was a simple white background, dip-shits combover only on the bottom (his face was not visible) and the words "You're Fired." I was selling it on pinback buttons. He was trying to trademark the phrase "You're Fired" that year but I looked it up & examined the language of the C&D, and determined it was a paper tiger. He never won the right to trademark as far as I know, but I kept selling the buttons. 'Cause you know. Fuck him.

(22,889 posts)Thanks for sharing your tale, Maru. I'm glad you just ignored him; that's what really drives him nuts. And your last sentence is just how I feel.

(4,187 posts)I'm concerned that mocking Trump in this way will hurt them. There are many beautiful people out there who happen to be fat -- much fatter than Trump, in fact. Many of them feel terrible about their weight. They already feel strongly that society considers them ugly because of their weight. I think it's better to go after Trump some other way than to criticize his appearance. Let's not sink to his level.
Maru Kitteh
(29,098 posts)So I modified and updated from simply "get in my belly" which wasn't clear at all to "Calls women fat. Instructs babies to get in his belly." This way it's much more clear that the reason he is being ridiculed is for his glaring hypocrisy, rather than his appearance.
Thank you for your input and respectful criticism Athena. I value your opinion.

(4,187 posts)My husband is "obese", so I'm very familiar with the guilt and self-hate that many fat people live with every day. (I can also speak about it more easily that people who are themselves overweight.) I wish we as a society were more accepting of fat people.
Another possible attack against Trump could be his hair. Clearly, he's balding, and he's insecure about it. (My husband is bald, too, but he doesn't feel the need to hide it with a combover. That being said, I don't know; there might be good people out there who do combovers? These things are so tricky.)
