And to see him, standing for all of us. It must be quite uncomfortable for him at 76 years of age.

What a true hero he is.

Laws 80% of Americans wants passed while they are so warm and cozy with the NRA. So telling these members needs to resigns or start doing their jobs, they used to be scared of Grover Norquist and the oath they signed until a few started breaking them and today Norquist is not a problem.

They turn their back to 80% of Americans demanding sensible gun control.

We have to vote these bastards out, as long as republicans control the House nothing that helps the average american will be allowed to pass.

I hope that Dems in both chambers continue to do this in re gun control. And also in the Senate, to force a vote on Prez O's Supreme Court nominee.

It's not like the GOP are doing anything else but to obstruct, so it's hardly a pressing distraction from routine business. At least the Dems will be obstructing for cause.

"code" for and I am sick of it. Was that remark allowed to stand?

I alerted on one post Tuesday and was gratified to see that it was removed, even though I never received any notification as per the new protocols. I also remarked in comments that another OP did not truly belong in GD: 2016 but didn't alert. Those are only the ones I've seen on my own, although I have served on a couple juries since.

There still seem to be some who are either slow learners, having trouble letting go, or who are NOT Dems at all. Those who persist in engaging in dubious tactics but who don't actually "break" rules, I simply add to my own IL for now. I have that power at least, LOL.

On the whole, things are much better outside this safe haven and I see several who are making great efforts to get DU back to being my favorite political site!

It shows a quality and extent of arrogance that the person who said it - their constituents should know about it.

is that the Rethugs actually think that doing what they're NRA masters want, is what their constituents want.

The vast majority of the American PEOPLE want this. We WANT reasonable gun control.

Those clowns don't care about anything until they get a check and marching orders from a K Street lobby. Obviously drinking and smoking cigars is far more important than stopping potential terrorists from buying guns.
