O'Malley calls for unity among South Dakota Democrats

http://www.argusleader.com/story/news/politics/2016/06/24/omalley-calls-unity-among-south-dakota-democrats/86355434/

This is a lesson in what it means to support the Dem nominee and to campaign on her behalf. Bravo Martin O'Malley!

Martin O’Malley made a stop in Sioux Falls Friday.

O’Malley, former governor of Maryland and former presidential candidate in the 2016 election, spoke at the South Dakota Democratic Convention June 24 for one of his stops across the nation.

He spoke in support of Hillary Clinton, the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party for the 2016 presidential election.

The Argus Leader was able to ask O’Malley a few questions about his message to South Dakotans and uniting the Democratic Party behind Clinton.

It's a nice interview with Governor O'Malley and I particularly like what he said about the Dems running a 50-state strategy. He is out there supporting not only Hillary but Dem candidates at the state levels. He is a team player all the way!

I kid, I kid. I lived there for 20 years and within spitting distance for another 20, so I'm allowed. lol

Seriously, it's great to see him spending some time in SD. There are liberals and Democrats everywhere. I love it when we remember and recognize that.

There will be more campaigning for Hillary as time goes on and lots after the convention.

He waited until the primary elections were over, likely out of deference to both candidates as he had been a candidate himself.

But once the results were there for ALL to see, he endorsed, jumped in wholeheartedly, and has begun hitting the trail on her behalf as well as on behalf of other Dems.

That is the kind of behavior that was exhibited by Hillary herself in 2008. It is also, to my recollection, the same type of behavior exhibited by ALL Dem primary losers but one ... save for Eugene McCarthy in 1968.

To be fair to McCarthy, he didn't actually lose in the primaries.

MOM's is the kind of behavior this Dem expects to see from other Dems.
