(29,085 posts)Had to hold it together.
Hillary crossed the line for # of delegates as I headed out of town.
Bernie moved to nominate her as I passed rolling hills of cool green with genuine purple mountains majestic all around, deer in the valley below and I swear to Mike, a freakin' eagle circling over the cliffs to my right.
Unforgettable.

(12,423 posts)I called my sister when her state was coming up and told her to tune in. We both were wondering, "What would Mom say if she was still here?'
She would have loved it as much as we did.

(10,893 posts)but I feel more passionate about HC than I already have. We're only 2 days in, and there were a few protestors and hecklers who were trying to make themselves relevant with the media's help, but I already feel like our convention has been much more of a success than the GOP convention. Every major issue I can think of has been addressed so far--from issues in the Black community to immigration, from gay rights to women's rights, from gun safety to jobs, and the fight song was fitting. I can't complain!

(11,478 posts)as in sobbing. But I did tear up just from the emotion of what the party did tonight in nominating Hillary. That was reinforced by Hillary herself in the concluding video, speaking about the aspirational meaning of this night for little girls in the now and future.
Hillary's nomination as the first woman of a major party is a big f**cking deal. I fully expect to need a box of tissues for her acceptance speech.
We're watching a brilliant convention.

(1,630 posts)and in spite of "knowing" it was going to happen, am still in shock. Keep asking myself if it is really true. Hillary and Obama make me so damn proud to be a Democrat and an American. Really.

(29,085 posts)Ohmygod YES!
Especially after surviving 8 years of that hominid chosen by the Supreme Court who embarrassed us continually around the globe. And the Trump/Putin ticket - it's just UNIMAGINABLE. It cannot happen.
