Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI can't tolerate the bashing of Hillary here
It just makes me so angry. It's bad enough to hear the right-wingers do it, but so-called Democrats doing it is too much.
They are so self-righteous and sickening. Not only that but woefully ill-informed.

(87,983 posts)This will be a Dem site or JPR site which is the filthiest Hill hate site since the cave. They Looooove Trump and Stein. The C word according to JPR admins is welcome and applauded. Well depends on how you use it....never ever call a member at JPR that, you will be banned. So said TM99 an admin.
Bravo.

(13 posts)When DU was hacked on Election Night, I thought I could commiserate with my fellow Dems on the DU Facebook page. I was startled to see so much hate for Hillary and smug "Toldja it shoulda been Bernie" comments. I support the site because it is really the only game in town. But I refuse to be herded into a "safe space." Hillary stepped aside when President Obama won the 2008 primary. Her supporters then came into the fold. I'm tired of fans of Sen. Sanders telling me not to blame them for the ascension of Trump because "they wanted Bernie." Well, he needed to win the primary for that to happen. He didn't. They're rubbing our noses in this hideous loss and I'm not going to stand for it.
LisaM
(28,729 posts)They knew that she - and we, her supporters - were no threat to withhold our vote. We're not like that, as shown emphatically in 2008. Emphatically. Which goes to show that PUMA, if it existed (and I saw no evidence of it among anyone I knew) was either an extremelysmall or very short-lived movement, but Bernie or Bust wasn't.

(13 posts)I'll acknowledge that as a black woman, I was pro-Hillary in '08. I actually did a college term paper on then-Sen. Obama's amazing keynote speech at the 2004 DNC convention, but I felt in '08 that Hillary was the more seasoned of the two of them. I was sorely disappointed when it became clear that she would not win the primary, and I did have some friends who were sore about it for a time. But we ALL came under the tent for Obama. There was no jeering, no backbiting.
I think I discovered DU around that time. I don't remember any Obama supporter having to hunker down in his appreciation group because the main boards were constantly bashing him. There were some disappointed people but as you said, most of us jumped in for Obama feet-first. That supporters of Sen. Sanders are so gleeful at a time that they ought to be scared spitless about the direction of this country under Orangina is horrific.

(49,003 posts)We suffered a humiliating defeat. There is no way behind it. And blaming it on voter suppression and Citizen United is not helping. Hillary herself would not try to put blame elsewhere.
She headed the ticket so she now takes the arrows.
What I hope for the "Postmortem 2016" is that we can find the spots where we missed - and we did miss, no one is perfect - and to work on them for 2018 and 2020. This is what she would like us to do.
There is no comfort in pointing out that a main reason for the defeat is with Hillary. Because of her 2-Xs.
She should have carried the Scranton area of Pennsylvania but some voters said that "the President job is a man's job."
Yes, a neanderthal, but a voter, nonetheless.
I have not been much here since we came back and of course did not read most of the posts. But if I did, if I will, I will point out any unfair Hillary bashing. In all my posts I repeat that, no, Sanders was not the answer.
Let's hope that Skinner will keep this forum for a few more weeks, until even the non-star members can join, let everyone get the distress and disappointment out of one's system and then remove it.

In fact, it was the last media feed frenzy that was the most damaging, and it was based on a lie.
11 days before the election, Comey went to the republicans in Congress with a vauge letter saying they were going to look at Weiner's computer, which they had for over a month, to see if there were "email issues". The republicans immediately grabbed that, and said the email investigation was being "reopened". It was a blatant LIE. MSNBC was the first cable/satellite network to headline their breaking new that "Hillary's email investigation reopened". MSNBC then proceeded to interview every right wing republican they could find, who continued to propagate the lie that the "investigation was being reopened". Soon, the other networks followed with the same LIE, that the "email investigation had been reopened". This went on for a few days, but the damage that was done was severe. A few days later as things begin to quiet down, Fox news bret baier reported from his sources in the FBI, an indictment was pending because of the "Clinton Foundation". That story was spewed all of Facebook and google news, (more on their part later). Two days later bret baier came out and said he was mistaken about a pending "indictment", and he apologized for the error. Good ole Rachel Maddow, was so taken by bret baier's apology, that on her show she jumped right to his defense saying what a terrific reporter he was for admitting a mistake. Of course that didn't stop fox news, or the trump campaign from continuing to spew the lie.
While all this was going on, the wonderful social networks such as Facebook, and search engine enterprises such as Google, were busy opening their flood gates to let the fake news right wing purveyors sell their bill of goods.
and that was what was happening in the last two weeks before the election,
but the fake news, and distorted and shabby reporting by the MSM was going on long before that. WMDs anyone?
The Shabby reporting has been going on for a long time. When the SC ruled on the ACA, the first reports that came out were that the ACA was overturned. It was a false report, and was eventually corrected. When Gabby Gifford was shot, they reported she had been killed. It also was a false report. When the Sago Mine disaster in West Virginia occurred, CNN was right there reporting that 12 miners were found alive. That was a false report, and they had to retract it, and report no survivors.
but how they covered Hillary verses how they covered trump was a disgrace.
The Matt Lauer interview demonstrated just how much there was a double standard.
On top of that there were at least 10%, aof Sanders supporters who refused to vote for Hillary.
In Michigan Hillary lost by .3%. Jill Stein received 1.1% of the vote. Similar situations occurred in Wisconsin and other critical states.
27% voted for Trump. That number is unique because it is approximately the same percentage of Americans who believe the birther bullshit.
Those people that voted for trump, did it because they felt threatened by the "browning of America"
45% of adults rely on Social Media for their news, and it is loaded with Fake news stories.
http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/11/18/13665938/fake-news-pepsi
With the shabby MSM coverage, along with the fake news, it is no surprise that so many eligible voters didn't even bother to vote.
Every swing state Senate race, the Democrat lost, and most of those losses were to the establishment republican incumbent.
Russ Feingold, Zypher Teachout, Jane Kim and Loretta Sanchez all lost
It was the independent forces of, the media, the social network's "fake news" where up to 45% adults get their news from, the republicans, the FBI, the third party voters, and those Sanders supporters who refused to vote for Hillary who gave us trump on a silver platter.
This really isn't rocket science, but even with all of that, Hillary still won the popular vote. Right now she is ahead about 2% in the popular vote, and that will get even bigger because states like California and Washington are still counting their absentee and vote by mail votes.

(12,252 posts)...but am starting to see that anti-Hillary attitudes are showing up again. It roils me to no end. She has behaved well--no twitter rants in the middle of the night and doing as she pledged from the beginning--to accept the results of the election. Now that her campaign has signaled that it will have a presence in the recounts does not mean she has flip-flopped or that she was so broken (women tend to dissolve like wet tissue don't-cha-know) that she avoided sticking up for Democrats until Jill Stein saved the day.
I can't believe I am on another page right now having an argument with someone who is suggesting Hillary was somehow self-serving or a Wall-Street hack when she sat on the Walmart board. I don't usually say anything but this time the Hillary bashing had little to do with the thread and served no point except to bash.
