and i encourage everybody here who did not to watch it online. It was an incredible tribute. Main point was that evem had he not done anything since, JK assured his place in history because of what he did 42 years ago. But O'Donnell is much better with words (and images) than I am so go watch it.

It also struck me as pathetic that the left accepted the right wing smear that Kerry was a hack politician who did this and everything else to become President. It is so illogical on the surface that seems strange they jumped to believe it. This was another RW smear that went as a strength - Kerry did put country and soldiers still there ahead of his personal future.

I've often posted that if all he cared about was becoming President (with no real goals to accomplish), he would have gone to law school and then ran as a Republican. With his VN heroism, looks and eloquence, they would have loved him - windsurfing and all.

And a lot better than Rachel Maddow, who was focused on Hillary Clinton to the point she asked Andrea Mitchell if he could do anything if Hillary Clinton could not do it.

Nobody says it will be easy, but really surprisingly shocking. Mitchell was gracious enough to tell her that Kerry was a heavy weight too and that she should not underestimate him.
