Related: About this forumSecretary of state Kerry's full statement concerning Boston.
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/51555993#.UW2EBrWThIQThe United States government is appropriately focused on finding the facts hours after the horrific explosions at the Boston Marathon. This afternoons attack is deeply personal to all of us who call that city our home. For any father who has cheered on a daughter as she made her way up Heartbreak Hill, or fired the starting gun at the wheelchair race, todays attack was an assault on who we are in Massachusetts on a Patriots Day that honors where we came from. Teresa and I are thinking of and praying for the families of those who were touched by this tragedy, even as our government makes clear, as President Obama did, that those responsible will be brought to justice. Ive seen Governor Patrick, Mayor Menino, and Bostons finest police, firefighters, and first responders handle a crisis before, and Im grateful that they are on the scene responding so effectively to this one. Secretary of State John Kerry
Yes, let's find the facts before making up our minds. And let's remember that what the media reports is not always facts.

(15,239 posts)1. Good statement.
I just read on Twitter that it took them 2 years to figure out it was Eric Rudolph who planted the bomb in Atlanta in '96. So, apart from honoring the victims, this news story is going to peter out until we know more. I avoid TV news like the plague. I looked for a few minutes yesterday and was turned off by all cable networks. Just utter crap. Newspapers do a much better job, even though there have been quite a few errors that had to be corrected (to be fair, I think officials have made mistakes as well).
I also really liked this post which represents how I feel: http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2013/04/the-boston-marathon-bombing-keep-calm-and-carry-on/275014/
