John Kerry emotional on Boston blasts
Secretary of State John Kerry grew emotional Wednesday as he talked about the bombings at Mondays Boston Marathon and their impact on his friends in Massachusetts, which he represented for almost two decades in the U.S. Senate.
Its impossible for me to express my sadness and my anger, frankly, over those terrible events, Kerry said as he opened his testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Its just hard to believe the Patriots Day holiday, which is normally such a time of festivities, is turned into bloody mayhem. But I know how resilient Bostonians are and I think a lot of you do, despite the fact it took us 86 years to win a pennant.
...
Kerrys voice wavered and he appeared to be on the verge of tears as he recounted a personal connection to the attacks, which killed three and left more than 170 injured.
Ive talked this week with friends and family up there, as recently as this morning, the granddaughter of a very, very close supporter and friend of mine through all of my political career is fighting to keep both of her legs, the secretary said. He did not name the supporter or the injured person.
Boston is not going to be intimidated by this, Kerry insisted. But were going to find out who did this. The police work being done is extraordinary. The FBI is remarkable. Theres a great deal of forensic evidence. Were hopeful we can bring people to justice.
...
Also, he seems to have drawn a line in the sand concerning Benghazi

John Kerry is sick of allegations that the administration lied about Benghazi.
Pressed for more information about the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in September 2012, the still-new Secretary of State told Republican lawmakers at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing today that hes happy to provide them any information they need, and that the State Department has already provided them with quite a bit.
His overriding point: Lets move on.
Lets get this done with, folks, Kerry said at the hearing. I dont think anybody lied to anybody.
...
Mr. Chairman, I do not want to spend the next year coming up here talking about Benghazi, Kerry said at one point, after Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., (who does not chair the committee) asked Kerry why Rice made false statements about the attack.
Theres no family in America that wants justice more than the State Department family, Kerry said, when asked about the administrations investigation into the attack.
We have identified people, and theyre building a case. Were going through the tedious, laborious, and very difficult process of gaining evidence from a part of the country which is dangerous, Kerry said.
