John Kerry gave an inspiring speech on Climate Change in Paris

The ministers from various country are working this week with the hopes of an agreement that will accelerate the world's effort to work against climate change, which is already responsible for damage in many areas of the world. What is remarkable is that there is some cautious optimism that something will be done.

Given the political situation in the US, it is remarkable that the US has been able - through Obama's executive actions and the EPA and a lot of strong diplomatic effort to have changed the very pessimistic view of what the Obama administration could do on climate change that pundits argued even three years ago.

The potential success of this effort may rest in part with the incredible US/China climate pact that no one thought possible, but which led the way to efforts with many other countries.

In the shadow of ISIS, Trump and police violence, this may be a mostly hidden positive story.
