(4,800 posts)2 years of sitting at home doing squat in difficult emotional situation. Finally pushed me to change everything. I moved to Florida to be close to friends. I haven't smiled this much in years. Literally, years. Sometimes life just pushes us to make the necessary changes.

(11,780 posts)Not just the travel itself but the possibility of ending up in quarantine in other country for a couple weeks.

(25,942 posts)I see friends and family going out to restaurants, traveling - and they seem to be fine.
Vaxxed, boosted and masked - I wonder if we are being "too" cautious?

(36,728 posts)I had been going to Florida in the winter for two to three weeks every year this will be the third year I haven't gone. That is because of COVID and the political climate there. I was going to the gym at least three times a week since 1997. I started back for a couple months this fall but with the Omicron going around I quit the gym again. I have saved lots of money sitting at home.

(28,422 posts)68, still working as a partner in a small import business. Our business is better than it's ever been and I enjoy staying engaged. Pretty isolated where I live and that won't change. Will take a trip to Ireland and pub-crawl when the time is right.

(3,790 posts)I realized I could do this for a few more years-- at home. So I'm postponing retirement for a while. It's so easy to do my work from home, saving the hour commute each day, and ... well, not to be anti-social, but I had it up to here with office politics, and I don't need to worry about that now.
So I'm going to work awhile and bank some extra $.
It's not like I can now do what I wanted-- travel in Europe for 6 months.

(18,618 posts)Husband is getting up there in age and hoping its safe to go back to a few favorite locations before it gets to late for him to comfortably take long flights.
Miss going out with friends for occasional dinners. Other than that not much change other than rushing in and out of grocery and pharmacy as quickly as possible while masked.
