Our family has now gradually reduced in size from around 12 to a possible 6+ guests and shares the costs of a traditional menu - turkey and stuffing; various traditional sides and salads, dinner rolls/butter and desserts - of course, everyone is always free to bring something new or extra to try at the table. Our table is bountiful, and we usually share "care packages." My married daughter and SIL host Thanksgiving turkey and Xmas Day ham; we're retired and host Xmas Eve goodies (hors d'oeuvres, shrimp cocktails/cookies/egg nog and/or adult beverages, and the "good fortune" New Year's Day pork roast/sauerkraut feast.
