Union claims Verizon fired retail employee after attending union vote for other stores

SEATTLE – A worker’s union and a Verizon retail employee have filed an Unfair Labor Practice against the company after an alleged wrongful termination.

Jesse Mason worked at Seattle’s Northgate and Aurora Village stores as a specialist.

The Communications Workers of America (CWA) claims Mason had gone with colleagues to another union vote count for the Everett and Lynnwood workers’ union on April 15.

While there, CWA said Mason was seen celebrating with the workers after the union vote went through. The following Tuesday, he was fired.
