(8,800 posts)I still get the Union Bug on my business cards. I dont work in an organized industry, but grew up in a two union parent household. I buy union made product every chance I get. My one trip away from the UAW list was a Kia Sedona. It was rated the safest minivan ever built. I had my kids and other peoples kids in the car so thats what we went with. We were a one minivan family it lasted 12 years and we put 166,000 miles on it and then donated it to the school and bought a Traverse.

(8,800 posts)Another quick reminder, I like my beer to taste like beer. Bud, Bud Lt, PBR, Rolling Rock, Sam Adams, beer that tastes like beer, all of the above are union made. There are some others, but Sam is as fancy as I need, I am happy with a bud bottle. In college friends would show up with a case of Coors Light and good god, Jesus help us. My dad would go into a tailspin on the deck. God help the poor bastard who showed up with Coors anything, Coors, Coors light, even worse Killians Red, according to my dad a fake Irish Beer brewed by a nazi want to be Adolph Coors get that shit out of my yard. You can leave it in your car if it is on the street.
I dont know what was worse, hat it was non union Coors or fake Irish.

I bet we could get them together and just mention "Reagan" and get an earful -- out of blast range, of course.
We need young workers to get fed up and fired up.

(8,800 posts)Although I oddly wake up praying for Carl Icahn. My father hates him with a passion that is just unreal. He insists he will live one day longer than Icahn so he can shut on his grave. I find myself praying for that asshole Icahn as it keeps my fathers blood boiling.
