Just got back from 4 hours on the picket line. What a beautiful day, too!
I'm going back later. The support in this community for the union and our cause is astounding! Constant horn-honking and waving, people pulling over to give us stuff. One older gentleman pulled over and started handing out pizzas! He must have handed out 20 pizzas. He was just a regular guy who wanted to support unions.
We strike until Saturday, and if we still don't have a contract, we go out again.

better decisions, & that I have several options during this open enrollment period. I stated specifics, including Kaiser's scheduling the new Covid vaccine for mid November!!! and this is for 50 miles away. Why is that the only Kaiser facility getting the Covid vaccine the new big fancy one in San Marcos? There are plenty of facilities here in San Diego, but I have to drive 50 miles. This has nothing to do with the strike because I have been getting the run around for weeks. Their response is I can go to CVS or Rite Aide and Pay $190.00 and I may or may not get reimbursed. Oh Kaiser, I'm losing faith in you. My question is: What are they doing with all that sweet Medical & medical advantage money - certainly not spending it on it's workers/patients. No Kaiser - I don't want your stupid ass Silver Sneakers (that nobody takes) - I want a frigen' Covid vaccine!!!
Thank you to all the hard working health care workers who are picking up the slack for Kaiser executives and their greedy decisions.

Management bussed in loads of scabs this morning who have no idea what they're doing. I feel bad for our patients.
We had ONE port-o-potty out by the picket line and management had it hauled away. They are being so damn petty.

I've had union jobs and non union jobs and union jobs were always better.
