There were hundreds of us on the picket line this morning.

Picketers from our satellite clinics were bussed to our hub clinic today where I am based. It was an impressive sight. There was also a state senator (D-Rodriguez) and two state reps. joining us. I made it a point to introduce myself and thank them for their support. It was quite cool this morning, but we stayed cozy by all of the donated coffee (Starbucks and Izzies) and donuts, bagels, etc., plus all of the hundreds of honks, waves, and thumbs-up from the public.

It's back to work for me tomorrow and Sunday, but another longer strike is planned in a couple of weeks if we still don't have a contract. I'll be happy to be at work tomorrow because, due to the strike, the morale is sky-high and I feel like we are all much closer now. There were a few regular employees who crossed the picket line with whom I'm disappointed. I don't think any of us will ever feel the same about them, although I will, of course, be polite, but that that's it. I no longer consider them friends. That part is sad.
