(DETROIT) – Members of Teamsters Local 337 have overwhelmingly ratified their second contract with SYMGA-Detroit. The new four-year agreement improves wages by 22 percent, reduces health insurance costs, adds MLK Day as a paid holiday, and increases vacation and paid sick time, among other workplace improvements.

“After a contentious strike to complete their first contract, our members were ready to hit the streets again if needed,” said Todd Lince, President of Local 337 in Detroit. “SYGMA workers were committed to winning massive improvements in their second contract. We are proud to represent this group. They stood strong until the last day of bargaining and never wavered.”

The 110 drivers and helpers deliver to restaurant and coffee shop chains throughout Michigan and the Midwest.

“We are thrilled to have secured a Teamster contract,” said Local 337 SYGMA stewards in a statement following ratification. “We keep the food establishments going and the public fed by delivering products from the warehouse to the stores, and we could not be more excited to have a contract that rewards our hard work and dedication.”

Teamsters Local 337 represents workers in a wide variety of industries throughout lower Michigan since 1937.
