The AFL-CIO at the Democratic National Convention

President Shuler and Secretary-Treasurer Redmond
attended the 2024 Democratic National Convention
(DNC) and a number of other related events this
week in Chicago. On Sunday, ahead of the
convention, the AFL-CIO hosted union delegates,
staff and members at the Celebrating Union
Women event to honor all the women of our
movement and the generations of work and
sacrifice that helped bring us to this amazing
moment! Shuler, alongside AFSCME President Lee Saunders,
SEIU President April Verrett, Laborers (LIUNA)
General President Brent Booker, Electrical Workers
(IBEW) International President Kenneth Cooper,
Communications Workers of America (CWA)
President Claude Cummings Jr. and UAW President
Shawn Fain, addressed the DNC on Monday
evening to express emphatic support for Kamala
Harris and Tim Walz and underscore labor’s
message that “It’s Better in a Union!”
