...disappointed with the interview but I was pleasantly surprised.

He raised a lot of issues and I think his story will help change the public perception of teaching and teachers in a good way. Most people who are not in education have a very distorted view of public schools and what teachers do every day. Danza tells it straight...and that is good.

He even tells the starfish story!

"So you’re left, and you’re sending messages to the kids, you keep telling the kids, it’s so important, this thing.

But meanwhile, there’s no nurse, there’s no shop teacher, there’s no art teacher, so how is it important? When they go to the mall, they see what’s important, because then it looks good."

Great interview. Who knew.
