Related: About this forumMost Populous Animals On Earth
https://www.worldatlas.com/animals/most-populous-animals-on-earth.htmlEven adding up all the farm animals, domestic pets, plus deer and opossums, I only get 6.8 billion to humans' 7.9 billion.
I guess I was trying to find a mammalian species with a comparable population that I could point to to say: they can live sustainably, why can't we?
The cows get a pass for their methane farts, btw. It's not their fault.

Cow manners are notoriously abominable.
Think. Again.

...I thought there are MANY more numbers in the other species than humans.
Did you happen to come across any numbers for species decline?
I know we've lost a lot of birds in the last decade or so...

Chicken meat production worldwide by country 2023 | Statista
Apr 13, 2023
In 2021 there were 25.8 billion chickens worldwide, up from 14.38 billion chickens in 2000. Per capita consumption of broiler meat in the United States amounted to about 96.9 pounds in 2022,...
The average global population of ALL mature birds (excluding chickens) is estimated to be somewhat less than 90 billion (actually, somewhere between 40 and 130 billion; this too is a rough estimate). The total population including younglings is somewhat higher during the breeding season of each species.

The cows are simple doing cow.
