...the near-future market for H2 as a fuel will be in large vehicles, buses, trains, shipping, construction equipment, etc.

Once we begin realizing that starting an entire industry based on a limited supply of materials such as lithium is dumb, we'll bring H2 back into small vehicle use.

China is already selling sodium battery EV's that have a range of 150 miles. And once a robust battery recycling chain is established, lithium supplies become more manageable.

Battery tech isn't standing still, and there are multiple paths forward to address lithium scarcity that don't need H2.

Think. Again.

...in any case, today, our only objective must be to decrease and eliminate CO2 emissions using any and every tool we have available now, as quickly as possible.

sHell hasnt' been a big player in H2 and last August the new CEO abandoned CALIFORNIA stations.

Shell Abandons California Hydrogen Stations [19/09/2023].

Shell has quietly abandoned its plans to construct 48 new light-duty hydrogen stations in CA. Surprising move comes despite being awarded substantial government grants, amounting to $40.6 million, for this very initiative back in 2020

But they are still in Europe - selling hydrogen. Will they be forced to give back the $40m they are apparently trying to steal? Let's ask the new CEO LOL. There's 5 new DATS 24 stations that have nothing to do with sHell in Belgium now selling H2 at 9.99 euros per Kg - literally less than 1/3rd the cost of Truly Zero stations in California ($36/Kg). But none of these bashers know literally anything about this stuff.

Compare that to the CA H2 train wreck

This might be a good time to remind fans of huge batteries for everything that batteries have problems too. But many ignore all of that - just wait until one of these new battery-only school buses burn up and the vids/pics of the kids trying desperately to climb out of a window makes the rounds on social media. It will be a whole new day for batteries.
