We should have been at this point 2 decades ago, and the rest of the world is far ahead of us, but still, we fight on...

(222,125 posts)And he - and many of the Republicans - have no interest in saving the planet for succeeding generations. And we have to keep the momentum going rather than having to restart all over again as President Biden did.

(3,612 posts)The same ocean going platform technology used for off-shore oil/gas exploration could be retooled for off-shore wind.
You wonder if the oil and gas folks are looking to stifle off-shore wind to keep them from competing for limited maritime resources.

(17,957 posts)Also, I remember reading 10 years ago about how Japan was testing retrofitting offshore oil rigs to be H2 production plants by installing wind turbines for power.
It made me think that using existing oil rigs for wind turbine bases might be more economical than starting from scratch but there's a lot I'm sure I don't understand about it.
