October 2024 Atmospheric CO2 - 422.38 ppm; October 2023 418.82 ppm; October 2022 415.74 ppm

Since October is the annual low point for atmospheric CO2 content, we will never see 420 ppm again in the lifetime of this civilization - or 422 ppm for that matter.

I was going to post on the topic, but I'm too depressed to do so.

Project 2025 will shut NOAA, and so it's unlikely this data stream will remain available in the future, but it will be safe to assume that things will get much worse much faster.

October is essentially the low point of the year, since it follows “growing season” in the Northern Hemisphere, where most of the land masses are and green plants absorb the most CO₂.
