World's First Domestic Hydrogen Gas Pipeline Network Completed in Scotland

Pipeline-Journal.net | 12/06/2024

A major milestone has been achieved in the realm of green energy as the construction of the world's first domestic hydrogen gas pipeline network in Levenmouth, Fife, has been completed.

This groundbreaking project, H100 Fife, will utilize green hydrogen gas produced from renewable electricity sourced from a local 7MW offshore wind turbine.

Set to go live next year, the 8.4km pipeline network is expected to provide residents in the area with the opportunity to become part of Scotland's inaugural green hydrogen community by signing up for the H100 Fife trial. The participants will be able to heat their homes and cook food without emitting carbon emissions.

This innovative initiative aims to provide valuable insights that will inform future low-carbon policy decisions for both Scotland and the UK, expected in 2026.

Max Biret, H100 Fife Distribution Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the network's completion, crediting the collaborative efforts of SGN's team and SMART Utilities. He also extended gratitude to the Levenmouth community for their support and cooperation throughout the project...more

What Trump's ancestral village in Germany thinks of him
Heike Mund, Aaron Skiba / kbm02/06/2019 February 6, 2019

Donald Trump's ancestors came from a tiny German wine village. We asked locals what they think of the US presidential candidate - and found out that the "Drumpfs" are long gone.

After dozens of calls, our first impression seems to be repeatedly confirmed: The Trumps in the Palatinate region of Germany are fed up with their distant relative in the US. No one seems to be happy to comment. Everyone wants to remain anonymous.

When asked whether the local residents were talking about Donald Trump, one middle-aged Mr. Trump responded, "No one dares to say what they really think. And that's the problem. At least not in public. Behind closed doors, it's a different story."

Nevertheless, Donald Trump seems to have inherited at least one facet of the regional mentality: "We like to express our opinions loudly," admits one Kallstadt resident, who didn't give his name.
