Morrissey compares carnivores to pedophiles

http://musicfeeds.com.au/news/morrissey-compares-carnivores-to-pedophiles/

Ringing in the new year in style and following-up the success of his long-awaited autobiography, former frontman of Manchester legends The Smiths Morrissey has said he sees no difference between meat-eaters and pedophiles during a recent Q&A on Morrissey fan site, True To You.

“I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia. They are both rape, violence, murder,” declared the singer when asked “What is it that prompted you to stop eating meat?” The Meat Is Murder-singer continued, saying, “If I’m introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away.”

"Eats beings?" Well, I eat animals, don't know about "beings." When they become people, I'll care about it.

You can care about animals and people at the same time. I and many other people manage to do it. You can too.

As a veterinarian, I am well aware of what goes on in them.

The comparison is outrageous, shameful, and deserving of a well-aimed fist to the face.

In case you are not aware, the entire purpose of slaughterhouses is to KILL animals for EATING. That is not violence. It's industrial processing.

And it CAN be done humanely. I've seen it with my own eyes.

I am very well aware that you are a veterinarian. You might take notice that I have
been on this board along time. I see no need for your nasty response to my comments.
It is strange that you would threaten me with violence in a discussion of violence.
It says far more about you than me or the topic of discussion.

I am also well aware that animals can be humanely slaughtered. But the fact is billions
go to their deaths in the cruel industrialized factories of the food corporations. Many
suffer unspeakable pain and you as a vet must surly be aware of the current conditions
of our slaughter houses where speed and profit dominate.

I did not threaten you with violence. I was commenting on what MORRISSEY said.

The majority of animals in slaughterhouses are not abused. They are slaughtered in accordance with humane guidelines. The line speeds are far too high to ensure that ALL are humanely slaughtered, however.

It is not that clear to whom you are directing your violence. Although I give you credit
for being able to throw generalized insults around on the internet based on scant evidence.

I restate that I do not have your level of confidence that animals in slaughterhouses
are not abused. I have seen and read far too much to be as sanguine as you are. That
is one of the main reasons, I gave up eating these animals over twenty years ago.

Sadly the conditions of factory farms have only deteriorated since I made that decisions.

It all depends on where you draw your circle. And little tiny me-circle people get really angry at big all-life-circle people. It's a standard reaction.

I can't carry it all the time. I just hope there's a future where meat is considered disgusting enough to be made illegal.
