2 great Thanksgiving/Christmas side dishes (or just Fall/winter recipes)

I love that there's no refined sugar in this, and it is not so sickly, dessert sweet like my mom always served (she likes this better too). My fave saweet potato casserole for sure!

Edited to add: VERY important to use unsweetened dried cranberries in this recipe in my opinion. I didn't use unsweetened this year (couldn't find unsweet unfortunately) and the recipe is not anywhere near as good with the sweetened dried cranberries. It changed the flavor profile big time and not in a good way. FYI!!
Again, I like less maple syrup (definitely not 5 tbsp.; I like 3 to 4 max).
Both of these have found their way to my table the last 2 years and will again this year. Easy to make.

(3,795 posts)I always make dishes ahead of the holidays (or parties/birthday's) if they are new recipes to make sure they are "worthy" of the big day and to ensure the recipe comes together FOR ME the way that it did for everyone else.
These definitely made the cut, and they are awesome.
Experimenting prior to the holidays had me cut back on the maple syrup some, but lots of people make it per the recipe and love it too. I can't wait to make them again real soon. I definitely recommend using blackstrap molasses as it calls for it. If you don't use it for anything else, it's great in just oatmeal too. I don't like using refined sugar in my cooking so I always have blackstrap and maple syrup on hand. Also, almond flour is easily made from simply grinding up regular almonds in a coffee grinder (what I do for almond flour and I pick out the few pieces that don't get properly ground up) or a food processor. Much cheaper to grind up some almonds than to buy almond flour/meal. But if you do buy almond flour Bob's Red Mill makes a great one (and the company is one of the most progressive companies in the country so we should support them when/if we can).

(3,795 posts)I had to check if the cauliflower based alfredo sauce I've made was hers or not and it was.
I remembered it was called "Caulipower" and when I looked up Angela's that was the one that I've made. Twice.
Finding food that's healthy, yummy, and vegan is something I'm very dedicated to doing. If you ever come across any interesting dishes, send them my way!!
