GOOD NEWS! Morning Star brought back the veggie dog!

It's in a box now instead of the shrink-wrapped block you couldn't get apart easily. I haven't opened it yet so I don't know what to expect, but I hope it is the same product as before. "Tofu pup" types are gross and SmartDogs, while closest, split when you try to skewer them lengthwise to cook over a fire. There's a can of sauerkraut, caraway seeds from our garden, and spicy brown mustard waiting to meet for a quick dinner tonight.

before I got on today, to have sauerkraut and dogs or pork or sausage tonight. Must be a good day for it?

On edit: Only my kraut will have brown sugar and black pepper too.

2. I'll skip the brown sugar - it doesn't go well with caraway or hot mustard.

Freshly cracked black pepper certainly does!!! And sharp cheddar cheese. Shit. I just added two ingredients to my "simple" dinner.

Yes, the texture is a little limp, but they are vegan.

My father-in-law tried to grill one for me not long ago... holy cow, it was AWFUL! Better stick to simpler cooking methods...

4. I've done them over the open fire. It's a delicate operation. Morning Star dogs stay on the stick.

They also seem a bit "heartier" or something.

5. Don't all the morning star products have like 800 ingredients?

Maybe they have gotten better. I know about 15 years ago they all had lots of stuff in them.

I like the Smart Dogs, and the kids love them, but I'm always interested in trying new stuff.
