50.6% of Moldovans voted for an EU-membership in an election marred by an avalanche of misinformation and meddling by Russia.

There are no celebrations in Moldova right now, because the result was so close and nobody really wants to go out and alienate half of the country.

The mood in Moldova is depressed because how insecure their future is: They share a border with Ukraine and if they too openly take a stance against russian influence, they could be the next target for invasion. The situation is even further complicated by separatists in the Transnistria-region, who have declared their region independent, are not recognized by ANY country in the world, not even Russia, but are protected by a garrisoned russian army-unit.
