The very first peace talks between Russia and Ukraine happened less than a month after February 2022 invasion. What Putin wanted to be a three days war turned out to be more than one thousand days. There is constant illusion of upcoming peace. And all the 'peace proposals' from Putin served one purpose: to show that it is Ukraine that doesn't want to negotiate, not Russia. Which is obvious, taking into consideration the unacceptable terms that Russia proposes. A lot is at stake for Putin. Putin really 'wants' to end war. But there is a 'problem'.
