Bezalel Smotrich responded to an op-ed by two MKs telling the world it is their "moral imperative to demonstrate compassion" and help Gazans attain a more prosperous future.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for voluntary emigration of Palestinians to Western countries on Tuesday in response to an op-ed by Likud MK Danny Danon and Yesh Atid MK Ram Ben Barak that was published in the Wall Street Journal and called on Western countries to accept Gazan refugees.

"I welcome the initiative of willing relocation of Gaza Arabs to countries worldwide," Smotrich wrote. "This is the right humanitarian solution for the residents of Gaza and the whole area after 75 years of being poor refugees. The majority of Gaza is fourth and fifth generations to 1948 refugees who, instead of being rehabilitated long ago like hundreds of millions of refugees around the world, were held hostage in Gaza in poverty and overcrowding and were a symbol of the desire to destroy the State of Israel and of the refugees' return to Jaffa, Haifa, Acre, and Tiberias."

He went on to say this has bred the hatred for Israel and Jews "upon which the population in Gaza is raised and educated" and led them to believe that the only solution is the destruction of Israel.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A senior far-right member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government said on Tuesday Gaza could not survive as an independent entity and it would be better for Palestinians there to leave for other countries.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who heads one of the religious nationalist parties in Netanyahu's coalition, said he supported a call by two members of the Israeli parliament who wrote in a Wall Street Journal editorial that Western countries should accept Gazan families who expressed a desire to relocate.

The comments underscore fears in much of the Arab world that Israel wants to drive Palestinians out of land where they want to build a future state, repeating the mass dispossession of Palestinians when Israel was created in 1948.

"I welcome the initiative of the voluntary emigration of Gaza Arabs to countries around the world," Smotrich said in a statement. "This is the right humanitarian solution for the residents of Gaza and the entire region after 75 years of refugees, poverty and danger."

Ethnic cleansing Israeli style.
The Palestinians have had 75 years of being poor refuges on their own land, and now the solution is for them to be gone.
No real attempts on either sides to actually fix what's broken there.
When will they ever learn?
I like this guy's calls for a "voluntary immigration". Didn't the Jews experience that a while ago? You'd think they would have a bit more compassion.
And please don't accuse me of being anti-semetic. It's not who they are that bothers me, it's what they do.
Both sides are trapped in a cycle of atrocities that give birth to the next generation of terrorists. And both sides use terror as a weapon.
It reminds me of when we Americans drove the indigenous peoples of North America off their land.

Did anyone who's been paying attention NOT see this coming?

My first thought when they started the bombing, and when they told people to "evacuate" the north. After bombing them first of course and destroying any possibility they could continue living there.

The deniers can deny all they want. This was a planned genocide and ethnic cleansing operation from the start. An Israeli Minister actually called it the Naqba of Gaza in an interview recently and seemed amused about it.

Just sickening and horrific.
